Historic Replica picture frames

We make historically accurate replica frames for Old and Modern Masters for an international client base of museums, collectors and dealers. A bespoke service using many years' expertise and knowledge of European picture frames to produce frames that blend seamlessly with your paintings.

FRAMING RECOMMENDATIONS

We can provide framing recommendations using computer-generated montages. See what your painting will look like in a variety of historic frames. You will be given a selection of frames to choose from along with a detailed description and cost. All we need is an image and some dimensions to get underway.

Traditional skills

We use traditional skills of wood carving and gilding to make frames that look appropriate for the age of the painting. We also use a range of traditional frame making techniques such as composition, plaster, and papier-mache.

Appraisals and Surveys

We can provide appraisals and surveys of frames for museums, collectors, and auction houses. This includes both historical information and condition reports.

Workshop and Lectures

Tim Ritson lectures on the history of frames and leads workshops on gilding for The Institute of Conservation. Please get in touch if you are interested in attending one of our lectures or workshops and we can keep you up to date with upcoming events.
